The family name they chose was "Pom" due to the fact that it's identical in pronunciation to Korean words for both "spring" as well as "tiger". She spent a few months in Canada before she and her family began traveling extensively because of her father's job. They travelled to Japan and on the Ivory Coast, before settling in France.
